The heat and fire tests in ISO 11612 mainly include the following: 1. Flame spread test (A test) Test purpose: To evaluate the flame spread performance of protective clothing fabrics under the action of flames. Test steps: Expose the fabric sample to the gas flame and measure the parameters such as afterflame time, afterglow time and damage length within the specified time.
2. Convection heat test (B test) Test purpose: To evaluate the resistance of protective clothing to heat transfer caused by convection heat source. Test steps: Expose the clothing to a controlled heat source, measure the temperature rise on the inner surface of the fabric, and ***ermine the length of time the sample can remain exposed before the temperature rises by 24℃.
3. Radiant heat test (C test) Test purpose: To evaluate the ability of protective clothing fabrics to provide radiant heat protection. Test steps: Expose the clothing material to radiant heat from a controlled source and measure the level of heat transfer through the fabric, that is, record the length of time the back of the sample (unexposed) can remain exposed before the temperature rises by 24℃.
4. Contact heat test (F test) Test purpose: To evaluate the ability of protective clothing fabrics to provide contact heat protection. Test steps: Expose the fabric to a heating plate or cylinder and record the time required for a specific temperature rise on the inner surface of the fabric. |
