1. Test principle
The ISO 5660 standard is an important standard for measuring the combustion characteristics of materials such as the heat release rate during combustion. The heat release rate (HRR) refers to the heat released by the combustion of a material per unit time under specified test conditions. For PVC wallboard, measuring its heat release rate can evaluate its combustion performance in a fire.
The test principle is based on the oxygen consumption principle. 2.Test equipment
ISO 5660 heat release rate is tested using a cone calorimeter, which is the core equipment for ISO 5660 testing. It mainly consists of a combustion chamber, a sample holder, a ventilation system, an oxygen analyzer, a weighing system, and a data acquisition system.
The combustion chamber provides a controlled combustion environment, the sample holder is used to fix the PVC wallboard sample, and the ventilation system ensures the air supply required for combustion and takes away the combustion products. The oxygen analyzer can accurately measure the changes in oxygen concentration during the combustion process, the weighing system can record the mass loss of the sample during the combustion process, and the data acquisition system collects and processes various test data, such as heat release rate, mass loss rate, etc.
